We are thrilled to announce the launch of our upcoming three-part Social Recovery Therapy course. Developed in the UK, Social Recovery Therapy is a CBT-informed approach that focuses on restoring meaningful social connections and rebuilding a sense of purpose.

Research, including the SUPEREDEN3 trial published in The Lancet Psychiatry, has shown that SRT can significantly increase engagement in structured activities such as work, education, and social participation.

Course Description:

This course will introduce participants to Social Recovery Therapy (SRT), a CBT-informed intervention that aims to improve social and functional outcomes for people who have experienced psychosis. The ethos of SRT is to promote social recovery through increased time spent in structured activities that are meaningful to the individual. Social recovery is both personally valuable and important in its own right, as well as a facilitator of better mental health outcomes. SRT focuses on working with individuals and systems around them, e.g., family, friends, mental health/other professionals, and activity providers. This helps individuals to engage in meaningful activities within a system that supports and encourages them in doing so, which helps the engagement in activity to last.

The aim of the course will be to provide an overview of the rationale and techniques of Social Recovery Therapy and relevant research and evaluation methods. Overviews of relevant research, rationale, formulation and specific techniques will be provided in lecture format interspersed with group discussion, role play and video.

10.5 CE credits for APA and NY Boards are available for this offering, with a sliding scale rate of $100-$300. Please note this is an interactive course and should be attended live.

The course is limited to 25 participants, with multiple people from the same agencies welcome with a 10% discount for 3+ more people, at the professional pricing level.

We look forward to learning more about this approach with you!
