Bio
Non-coercive evidence-based treatment for psychosis using the Open Dialogue method
In her almost 30-year long career as clinical psychologist, Rebecca has worked with people diagnosed with serious mental illness and with people having experiences typically interpreted as symptoms of serious mental illness. As a child, she decided to become a psychologist because she wanted to help people like her grandfather, who was labeled with 'paranoid schizophrenia' and died of TB and malnutrition during the Depression in a state hospital. She was among the first American mental health providers who were trained in the Open Dialogue method, a non-coercive, evidence-based treatment for psychosis promoted by the World Health Organization QualityRights Initiative.
