Join Dr Eleanor Longden and ISPS-US on December 9 to dive into the exciting results of the Talking with Voices II trial, studying the effectiveness of voice dialogue intervention within the UK's National Health Service.
This webinar will showcase the results of the landmark Talking with Voices II trial, a multisite randomized controlled trial (N = 309) across community mental health team in the UK, which aimed to assess the efficacy of Talking with Voices compared to treatment as usual on personal and clinical recovery in individuals with persistent and distressing voices. Drawing from the work of the Hearing Voices Movement, Talking with Voices is a trauma-informed approach to working with distressing voices in which a therapist engages directly and verbally with an individual's voice(s) in order to help improve the hearer-voice relationship. The Talking with Voices II trial is novel in both its intervention and delivery, with coproduction embedded at all stages of the research process, including in the training and supervision of trial therapists. Trial results and implications will be discussed.
