A letter from our Executive Director

Dear Friends,

As we close out 2024, it’s a time to reflect on resilience, connection, and the importance of standing together for causes we deeply believe in. At ISPS-US, I’m constantly inspired by our incredible community—clinicians, peers, advocates, family members, and individuals with lived experience—all working together to reimagine how we understand and support people experiencing “psychosis.”

This year, I’ve witnessed remarkable moments: from inspiring or heartfelt (and sometimes heartbreaking) conversations at our most successful annual conference yet to the sustained generosity that sustains our free webinar spaces for those in need. These moments remind me of the power of collective action and the enduring legacy we carry forward from ISPS’s founding nearly 70 years ago.

I’m reaching out to invite your support to sustain and grow this vital work.

The majority of our funding comes from compassionate individuals like you. Your contribution—whether as a monthly Movement Maker or a one-time donor—directly supports our mission to create person-centered, compassionate, and innovative approaches to mental health care. Lost in the noise of Black Friday Deals and Giving Tuesday appeals, we have unfortunately not yet achieved our end-of-year campaign goals that will fund our bold and visionary 2025 plans for increased impact and growth.

Here’s what your gift helps us achieve:

  • Provide access to education: Subsidizing spaces for individuals with lived experience to attend webinars and conferences.
  • Promote advocacy and innovation: Supporting grassroots initiatives and creating new resources to advance psychosocial approaches to psychosis.
  • Grow our legacy: Continuing the work of pioneers like Christian Müller and Gaetano Benedetti, who sparked this global movement.

This holiday season, please consider joining the Movement Makers Giving Circle. Together, we can ensure that ISPS-US remains at the forefront of transforming mental health care for decades to come.

If a monthly gift isn’t possible, even a one-time donation makes a profound impact. And if you can’t give right now, sharing our mission and upcoming events with others is just as valuable!

On behalf of everyone at ISPS-US, thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to this movement.

With gratitude,
