The Colorado Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies is a training institute teaching the theories and techniques for healing the psychoses and other severe narcissistic disorders. Using Modern Psychoanalytic, Lacanian and Kleinian perspectives, we show how mental illness is the product of developmental trauma that prevents a solid and coherent self to emerge. Rather the person has to form adaptations that work temporarily, but that mirror the chaos and painfulness of the traumatic situation itself. We show the methods that strengthen the patient’s psyche and heal their sufferings and maladaptations, thus fostering integrity and autonomy of the self .

Natural Psychotherapy, developed by New York psychologist Eric Riss, Ph.D. and his wife, Dr. Miriam Riss, is a mind-freeing therapy for self-understanding and self-empowerment. It is a thoroughly holistic, drug-free, alternative therapy for all types of psychological stresses and difficulties – from the most common and mildest, to the most unusual and severe. Natural psychotherapy does not use psychiatry’s dehumanizing theories or practices: it does not resort to damaging labeling of people, endless medicating, or any of the other risky psychiatric “treatments.” In natural therapy one learns how to resolve the so-called “mental illnesses” as well as many of life’s problems and crises in effective, positive and realistic ways.
